Is everything I tell the therapist confidential?

The psychotherapist is bound by the ethical rules of the psychotherapeutic profession. One of the main ethical principles of the EAP (European Association for Psychotherapy) is the principle of confidentiality. This states that the primary duty of psychotherapists is to respect the confidentiality of information obtained from any person during therapeutic work. Psychotherapists are obliged not to disclose this information to anyone else without the consent of the client, and are also obliged to ensure the safe storage of all information about the client.
